Burna Boy has won the Best International Act for the second consecutive year, becoming the first Nigerian artiste to win the BET Awards back to back. 779 new cases of COVID19 were recorded in Nigeria on Saturday, June 27. According to the statistics released by the Nigeria Center for Disease Control NCDC, Lagos recorded 285 new cases, 68 in Rivers, 60 in FCT, 60 in Edo, 56 in Enugu, 47 in Delta, 42 in Ebonyi, 41 in Oyo, 19 in Kaduna, 18 in Ogun, 16 in Ondo, 12 in Imo, 11 in Sokoto, 9 in Borno, 8 in Nasarawa, 5 in Abia, 5 in Gombe, 5 in Kebbi, 4 in Kano, 3 in Yobe, 3 in Ekiti and 2 in Osun. Nigeria now has 24, 077 confirmed cases of the viral disease with 558 fatalities.

The US Centers for Disease Control (CDC) has added a runny nose or congestion, nausea, and diarrhoea to the growing list of Coronavirus symptoms. The new symptoms are likely to appear between two to 14 days after exposure to the virus. The CDC reports that anyone with the following symptoms may have COVID-19: Fever or chills A cough Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing Fatigue Muscle or body aches Headache New loss of taste or smell Sore throat Congestion or runny nose Nausea or vomiting Diarrhoea "This list does not include all possible symptoms. CDC will continue to update this list as we learn more about COVID-19," the website states. Milton Glaser, the graphic designer of the iconic “I love New York” logo has died. Glaser, a native New Yorker, passed away after suffering a stroke on Friday, which was his 91st birthday. His wife, Shirley who confirmed the death to the New York Times, also disclosed that her husband had renal failure. The Bronx native came up with the I Love NY logo consisting of black letters and a red heart on a white background on behalf of the state of New York in the 1970s. He actually drew the design on the back of an envelope in red crayon while on a taxi cab ride in 1976 to promote tourism in the state of New York including New York City. The logo, which has been in use since 1977, became prominent after the September 11 attacks in 2001, by the Islamic terrorist group al-Qaeda against the United States. The Osun state police command has arrested a 50-year-old man, Adeleye Fayemiwo, for defiling his 13-year-old daughter. A statement issued by the spokesman for the command, Opalola Yemisi, says the suspect who resides in Agbongbe Street, Ibokun area of the state had unlawful carnal knowledge of his daughter, adding that the victim was taken to the hospital for medical examination and treatment. “On June 17, 2020 at about 0700hrs, one Adeleye Fayemiwo ‘m’ (50) of B50, Agbongbe Street, Ibokun had unlawful carnal knowledge of his daughter, a girl of 13yrs old of the same address. Upon information received from the complainant, the suspect was arrested while the victim was taken to hospital for medical examination and treatment,” the statement partly read. The burial ceremony of former Governor of Oyo state, Abiola Ajimobi which was postponed on Friday June 26, will now hold on Sunday June 28 2020. The late politician's spokesperson Bolaji Tunji who confirmed the date, said the burial ceremony was postponed after consultations with the governments of Lagos and Oyo. He further revealed that the burial ceremony will be held in line with the existing protocol issued by the presidential task force (PTF) on COVID-19. The Lagos state government has warned that it could issue another lockdown as Coronavirus cases in the state continue to escalate. Lagos state, Nigeria's commercial capital has recorded over 9,741 cases with 1,475 recovered and 126 deaths and the Lagos State Commissioner for Health, Prof Akin Abayomi, has revealed that the local government areas with the highest number of cases were Eti-Osa, Alimosho, Kosofe, Ikeja, Oshodi, Surulere and Lagos Mainland. Speaking to journalists at a media briefing, Prof Akin Abayomi, said the government would not hesitate to impose another lockdown if the COVID-19 cases continue to sky rocket. “We believe we are managing a delicate balance between the public health crisis and the economic livelihood of Lagosians. The burial ceremony of former Governor of Oyo state, Abiola Ajimobi has been postponed as confirmed by his spokesperson Bolaji Tunji. Speaking to newsmen at the late politician's Ibadan residence on Friday morning, Tunji said the family would soon make an announcement of the burial programme. Ajimobi's spokesperson said; “The funeral arrangements will be announced soon by the family but it will be observed privately so as to be in accordance with the Nigerian Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) guidelines.” Ajimobi died on Thursday June 25, days after he was placed on life support following Coronavirus complications he suffered.

Singer Dencia has taken a dig at Hushpuppi after a video released by the police in Dubai released a video to confirm his arrest. Recall that Hushpuppi had taken a swipe at people who bleach their skin by warning them not to make social media posts in support of Black Lives Matter. Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta state, and his wife, Edith, have gone into self-isolation after one of their daughters recently tested positive for the novel Coronavirus. The governor disclosed this on his Instagram page on Friday June 26. ''Earlier today, Edith and I received the news that one of our daughters has tested positive for #COVID19. The Akwa Ibom Police Command has arrested a 35-year-old pastor identified as Nnamso Friday Jacob a.k.a ‘Major Prophet Honesty Jesus,’ for allegedly raping a 16-year-old girl inside his church. The 16-year-old girl who went in for “counselling and deliverance” fixed by the Pastor, was reportedly drugged and raped at Jacob's church, the Living Power of Zion Church located at Ndue Eduo, Okon Eket, Eket Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom state. Police spokesperson in the state, N-nudam Fredrick said the incident occurred on June 23. He said; “While she was in the prophet’s counselling room, the suspect administered an intoxicating liquid substance to the victim and thereafter took advantage of the victim and had unlawful carnal knowledge of her." Fredrick further revealed that Jacob is the second pastor to be arrested for rape in the state in less than a month.
